ABOUT

Automotive Technology and Alternative Energy (ATAE) Research Group was established in 2015 with its aims to develop cutting-edge innovation and to resolve engineering problems in automobile and propulsion-energy systems, with advanced precision instrument and high performance computing tools.

Future technologies of interests include alternative fuels for internal combustion engines (ICE): hydrous bio-ethanol, hydrogen, bio-oil, ethanol-diesel-biodiesel-hydrogen mixture, etc. with engine control, thermal management, after-treatment devices, and fuel jet-spray investigation. Additionally, the fuel reforming technique has been performed to transform any hydrocarbon-oxygenated fuels into hydrogen-rich gas to burn in ICE. Besides, improving turbocharger response and reducing friction in machines by proper lubrication are also of interest. Research on external combustion engines is another trail to elevate their output and efficiency. Vehicle safety issues related to vehicle structural design and analysis are also concerned.
